Computer-Using Educators (CUE) Announces Annual CUE 2014 Conference Featured Speakers and Housing Registration Availability
Walnut Creek, California (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- Computer-Using Educators (CUE) is pleased to announce its Kickoff Keynote and Spotlight Speakers for the Annual CUE Conference to be held March 20-22, 2014 in Palm Springs, California. In addition, hotel blocks are now available at discounted rates for attendees.
Dan Meyer, math teacher and blogger, will be CUE’s Kickoff Keynote speaker on Thursday, March 20 at 4:30 pm. Dan Meyer taught high school math to students who, in many cases, did not like high school math. He is currently a doctoral candidate at Stanford University in the field of math education. He speaks internationally and works with publishers to help them transition from print to digital media. He was named one of Tech & Learning's 30 Leaders of the Future and an Apple Distinguished Educator.
He will speak on Capturing, Sharing, and Resolving Perplexity, and will describe how "perplexity" is one of the scarcest resources in the classroom, and how to pick tools and technology to maximize it.

Gwyneth Jones will deliver three sessions, including headlining Saturday’s Digital Citizenship Summit, a new partnership between CUE and the California School Librarians Association (CSLA). Registration for the Summit is included in all conference registrations, including the Saturday-only rate.
Karen Cator - President and CEO, Digital Promise
Karen Cator’s sessions will focus on Digital Promise, a congressionally authorized national non-profit organization whose mission is to use digital technologies to support lifelong learning. She will also facilitate a panel discussion of leaders around Common Core/Smarter Balanced Assessment implementation.
Mark Coppin - Director of Assistive Technology, Anne Carlsen Center
Mark’s sessions will include three one-hour sessions on iPad apps to support learning and one three-hour, hands-on session on creating content for the diverse learner.
Hall Davidson - Senior Director, Global Learning Initiatives, Discovery Education
Past CUE Board Member Hall Davidson will speak on digital tools, augmented reality, new educational strategies and present a workshop on leveraging technology to address the challenges posed by the Common Core State Standards.
