Conceal and Carry Classes Offered in Illinois by Safety Partners and Bronson Painter

Safety Partners and Bronson Painter want to ensure that those who wish to carry a concealed weapon have the proper training and information necessary to safely and legally do so. Bronson Painter is a motorcycle officer with the Glen Carbon Police Department and has also been an instructor for the Illinois Hunter Safety Program for the past 12 years.
Illinois has recently issued a law to approve concealed carry. These classes are important to take if you plan on getting your conceal and carry permit. Although you are not allowed to get your permit until January, these classes are filling quickly. The Illinois State Police have already established the skill requirements to get your permit which include: firearm safety, basic principles of marksmanship, care, cleaning, loading and unloading of a concealable firearm, transportation of a firearm, and instruction on the proper and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm. By them establishing these requirements, Bronson Painter was able to get the appropriate guidelines to make this possible.
The classes will be held at Safety Partners Ltd., 620 Armsway Blvd., in Godfrey, IL. There are 2 forms of the class being offered: a 16 hour course, which is taken over 2 days that is available for anyone interested in guns, from beginners to gun savvy experienced firearms owners; and an 8 hour course that is available for anyone with prior military experience who can show they have met some of the basic requirements of the ISP training. Painter is offering discounts to those who are active military or with prior military experience, along with spouses of police officers or firefighters.
