Concept Searching Announces Enhancements to Product Suite to Support 55 Languages
McLean, VA and Stevenage, UK (PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- Concept Searching, the global leader in semantic metadata generation, auto-classification, and taxonomy management software, and developer of the Smart Content Framework™, is pleased to announce that its industry unique conceptTaxonomyManager now supports 55 languages, including Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.
The expansion of languages was made in response to Concept Searching’s increasing global client base, which requires the auto-classifier functionality within conceptTaxonomyManager in native languages. As a result, the classifier component now supports Unicode.
Unicode, a standard for representing characters as integers, unlike ASCII, which uses 7 bits for each character, uses 16 bits. This means that it can represent more than 65,000 unique characters, which, whilst not needed for English and many Western-European languages, is necessary for some other languages, such as Chinese, Greek, and Japanese. Several analysts are of the view that, as the software industry becomes increasingly global, Unicode will eventually supplant ASCII as the standard character coding format.
“As Concept Searching continues to grow quickly, a key requirement of many of our global clients to support Unicode,” said John Challis, CEO and CTO of Concept Searching. “This is extremely important for those clients of ours wishing to use the product in their native language. Our technologies are designed for ease-of-use and the ability to rapidly integrate with existing client architecture. Adding this ability is simply a natural progression of the technology to support Unicode.”
conceptTaxonomyManager provides features not available in other taxonomy products, and is able to significantly reduce the time it takes to build, deploy, and manage taxonomies. Since the product is platform agnostic, and available in on-premises, hybrid, or cloud environments, it has become a product of choice for organizations seeking to manage their unstructured and semi-structured content. It is designed for Subject Matter Experts, and provides a wealth of interactive features to test and tune taxonomies to deliver both high precision and high recall.
