Concept Searching Announces Publication of Fifth Annual SharePoint and Office 365 Survey Results White Paper
McLean, VA, US and Stevenage, UK (PRWEB) September 28, 2017 -- Concept Searching, the global leader in semantic metadata generation, auto-classification, and taxonomy management software, is pleased to announce the publication of its fifth annual survey results white paper, 2017 SharePoint and Office 365 State of the Market Survey.
The 2017 survey was conducted from March to June 2017, with 371 unique surveys completed by organizations that currently have one or more versions of SharePoint in use, or are using Office 365 in a hybrid or cloud environment.
Since its inception, the survey has become broader in scope, in order to determine organizations’ application priorities and infrastructure, and gain insight into key issues such as security, records management, migration, and compliance.
Highlights from this year’s survey include:
• A growing number of organizations are migrating content to the cloud, and initially using OneDrive for Business.
• Again this year, it does not seem that respondents were really sure of the security risks in the cloud, or perhaps believe them, but they showed an unwarranted level of comfort that their content was secure.
• On the other hand, security remained highly ranked as a priority application.
• Search again is a priority application. With a lack of interest by the majority to automate tagging, organizations appear to be committed to continuing the manual process, yet are working on improving search and content lifecycle management as high organizational priorities.
Martin Garland, President of Concept Searching, states, “Our annual survey results are extremely important to us, and continue to be of value to the Microsoft community at large. The survey represents the voice of professionals working in organizations that are using SharePoint or Office 365, and offer real insight into their current priorities. As a software vendor, it is crucial for us to know their areas of focus and concern, to maintain our ability to successfully respond to evolving marketplace requirements.”
The survey results white paper is available via Concept Searching’s website, and the Concept Searching team will be at the Microsoft Ignite event in Orlando from 25th-29th September, at booth 1632, to discuss these latest findings in relation to market and technology developments.
