Concussion Reducer for Football Players Invented by InventHelp Client (IPL-156)
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) January 16, 2015 -- The only sure way to eliminate concussions is not to play sports. What CAN be done is to add protection to the shell of the helmet, which is currently not being addressed. Only addressing the amount of padding, inside the helmet, does not change the energy of the direct hit a player takes to the shell of the existing helmets on the market. This is why an inventor from Terre Haute, Ind., decided to invent a better helmet.
The added layer of the SEQUENTIAL ENERGY ABSORPTION (SEA) to sports helmets enhances the head protection provided by conventional football helmets. This can also be incorporated into other sports helmets, i.e., baseball, etc. By wearing helmets that incorporate this multi-layered system, players are afforded a layer of added protection to help deflect the energy away from the head. This system may help reduce the risk of head injuries to players.
The inventor’s personal observation inspired the idea. He thought of this system while watching children playing sports where they were at risk for head injuries. He wanted to improve the safety afforded by sports helmets.
The original design was submitted to the Indianapolis office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
