Configura Releases CET Developer, a Platform to Create CET Designer Extensions
LINKÖPING, SWEDEN (PRWEB) February 03, 2015 -- Configura, maker of CET Designer software, announces the release of its new programming environment: CET Developer. CET Developer is a complete development environment with all of the necessary tools that programmers and developers need to create their own CET Designer Extensions.
What makes the CET Developer environment unique is it enables manufacturers to have complete control over all of their content, from the beginning of the project to the release and maintenance of the finalized Extension. Customers can now publish their Extension independently of Configura or still choose to work with Configura for developing and publishing the Extension.

CET Designer is Configura’s all-in-one space planning software that simplifies the specifying and selling of products in a variety of industries. An Extension adds products or functionality to the program. Furniture manufacturers such as Steelcase and Haworth are currently entering their products into CET Designer through their Extensions.
CET Developer simplifies the previous process of creating an Extension by collecting all necessary programs and tools into the same environment. It will enable developers to spend less time on administration, and more time creating features, as programmers have instant access to everything needed to create and publish an Extension.
“CET Developer will enable developers and testers to focus on what they do best, which is to create great software,” Configura Chief Product Officer Nicklas Dagersten said. “It ties together the development environment for CET Designer developers and automates many of the tasks that were previously performed manually.”
Through the cloud-based Developer Center, which is a part of the CET Developer package, developers and manufacturers can access the developer documentation and handle all billing information, user permissions, release notes and Marketplace information for their Extension, from anywhere in the world. This gives the owner full control over who can access the entire Extension or, for example, just region-specific parts of the Extension.
Dagersten explained: “The sophisticated system controls more than permissions to each Extension. A global company uses, for example, different pricelists in different countries. Our system allows them to develop one Extension for all and then easily change and distribute access to the different pricelists through the cloud-based Developer Center. It’s a really powerful tool.”
In conjunction with CET Developer, Configura also releases premium support for developers. Premium support for developers is an additional support service that includes immediate chat and phone support, access to the CET Developer Briefcase and discounts on CET Developer Conference and CET Designer User Conference.
