Connecticut Fertility Practice Has Two ‘Best Doctors in America’
Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- Dr. Mark Leondires, Medical Director and Lead Infertility Doctor at Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT), and Dr. Shaun C. Williams, Fertility Specialist at RMACT, have been selected for Best Doctors in America 2014, a database of America’s premier doctors, as chosen through a peer-review process.
Best Doctors in America 2014 represents the top five percent of physicians across the country. For over 20 years, Best Doctors has conducted the largest, continuous, peer-to-peer survey of medical professionals with the intention of helping patients find the best experts for their medical needs. Before being chosen for this prestigious list, each doctor was assessed on his or her current licensure, board certification and malpractice incidents, as well as an evaluation of each physicians’ research and published work.

Dr. Leondires and Dr. Williams are both board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. They see patients at RMACT offices in Danbury, Norwalk, Stamford and Trumbull, as well as at affiliate New York fertility clinics serving Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties.

Dr. Leondires received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and history from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, which was followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. After completion of his training, he fulfilled his military obligation by serving as the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Director for the largest and most successful program in the military health care system at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. His professional society memberships include the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Leondires has been selected as a Castle Connolly Regional Top Doctor for his work the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
Dr. Williams earned his undergraduate degree from University of Texas at Austin and went on to study medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he was part of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He conducted his internship and residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he received the Berlex Labs Resident Teaching Awards. Dr. Williams did a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at The Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Williams has been published numerous times, and has presented five of his abstracts at American Society of Reproductive Medicine’s (ASRM) annual conference for professionals in the infertility field. He is a member of ASRM, Fairfield County Medical Association, Fellow of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and associate member of Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Williams’ peers also rated him as a “Top Doctor” for Castle Connolly’s 2013 list of Fairfield County’s Top Doctors.
