Consilium Cares Partners with Children’s Medical Center for Three Events to Close Out 2013
Irving, TX (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- Consilium Cares partners with Children’s Medical Center for three events to close out 2013. Consilium Staffing employees donated their time and money by participating with Children’s Medical Center in three events during the holiday season.
The first event was Children’s Medical Center’s “Change for Children” program. Consilium’s internal departments and teams competed to see which group could raise the most money by contributing loose change to various coin containers scattered throughout the office. This is the second consecutive year for Consilium to participate in the Change for Children program, with the 2013 event raising more than double the amount raised in 2012. “The Change for Children program is a fun and great way for our teammates to support Children’s Medical Center. I am proud of the funds we generated,” said Sheri Ossorio, one of the Co-Coordinators of the Consilium Cares program.
The Change for Children event was expected to serve as a warm-up to the second Consilium Cares event of the season, volunteering for the Children’s Medical Center Holiday Parade. Consilium had more than 30 volunteers sign up to participate in the parade. The Consilium volunteers attended parade school for positions such as security, banner carriers, clowns, face-painters, and more. The parade, with anticipated attendance of 400,000 and a TV syndication of more than 100 million households, was unfortunately cancelled due to inclement weather. John Moberly, a Co-Coordinator of Consilium Cares said, “We had tremendous volunteer turnout from our company and the parade was the talk of the office for several weeks as we prepared for the event. We were all very disappointed that the parade was canceled, but we look forward to supporting the event again next year.”
On the heels of the parade cancellation, the Consilium Cares team was eager to get back into volunteer action and was able to do so the following week with the Children’s Medical Center’s “Radiothon”. Consilium employees manned the phones and took calls from donors throughout the day as Children’s Medical Center raised more than one million dollars during this event. “Our people spend a lot of time on the phone in the normal course of our business, so this event was a natural one for us,” said Ossorio. “Children’s Medical Center is an amazing organization, serving such a great purpose. We were just thrilled to play a small part in helping Children’s Medical Center raise so much money.”
Consilium Staffing employees are dedicated to giving back to the community and are excited to work with Children’s Medical Center of Dallas again in 2014.
