A software company that specializes in the hospice and palliative care industry is increasing its presence in Lexington. Governor Steve Beshear and Lexington Mayor Jim Gray today announced Consolo Service Group is expanding its current location, creating 30 jobs and investing $730,700 into the project.
The expansion of the Consolo office off Wellington Way near Fayette Mall will help the company reach a greater customer base across the country.
“I congratulate Consolo on its decision to expand in Lexington,” Gov. Beshear said. “It’s great to see a company succeeding with innovative technology solutions in such vital areas as heath care management.”
“Consolo’s customer base includes agencies ranging from 10 patients all the way up to 3,000 patients in over 45 states and growing, and this demand is increasing our need to expand,” said Greg Kite, CEO for Consolo Services Group.
“We evaluated numerous sites and chose Lexington as the best location for this expansion,” added David Cruse, chief operating officer for Consolo Services Group. “We appreciate the hard work of Commerce Lexington and local and state officials who helped us through the process."
“When a local business grows and invests in Lexington, it tells the world that our city is a great place to do business,” Mayor Gray said. “Since 2011, our employment rate has been cut by more than half, and many of the good jobs our economy has produced have come from expansions of local businesses. Congratulations, Consolo!”
Consolo is a software company that specializes in software for hospice and palliative care services. Consolo’s programs allow for record-keeping, management and administration from patients’ homes and other care facilities. Since 2004, Consolo has grown from three employees to currently more than 55 nationwide.
“I congratulate Consolo Services Group Inc. on their success and expansion,” said Sen. Alice Forgy Kerr, of Lexington. “It is a win for Fayette County, and Kentucky, to keep Consolo headquartered here as they continue to grow.”
“Consolo Services is a great example of a company that recognizes the benefits of being located in a city with a solid technology sector,” said Bob Quick, CCE, president and CEO of Commerce Lexington Inc. “Consolo’s expansion will create more software development and high quality support jobs for our community. We are pleased to congratulate Consolo on its continued success!”
To encourage the investment and job growth in the community, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $400,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the term of the agreement through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.
In addition, Consolo is eligible to receive resources from the Kentucky Skills Network. Through the Kentucky Skills Network, companies are eligible to receive no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job training incentives. Last year, the Kentucky Skills Network trained more than 84,000 employees from more than 4,100 Kentucky companies.
