Constellix Sonar Releases Real-User Monitoring

Reston, VA (PRWEB) February 23, 2016 -- Real-User Monitoring (RUM) has been growing in popularity for network troubleshooting and website performance for the past few years. This is mainly due to the advanced level of javascripts that are now capable to be run on browsers for the end users.

However, Constellix Sonar is taking RUM to the next level by making easier to gather data about end users’ experiences. The Constellix traffic management solution is currently in beta, but is already making waves. Currently available to DNS Made Easy members for free, users are already reporting great success through the use of Sonar monitoring and GeoDNS management.

  •      Connection provider (only offered by Constellix)

Previously to get RUM data for your site there were cumbersome pieces of software that needed to be installed on application servers. Rather than having to install software or get a developer to help, all Constellix Sonar users have to do is install a simple Javascript snippet onto their site. The snippet will send all the data to Constellix which will create an actionable report through Sonar’s RUM. These metrics can help administrators not only identify issues for specific customer in different regions, but also help predict and troubleshoot issues before they come to fruition.

“Users aren’t surfing the Internet at data centers, but that’s been the industry norm for years. System administrators have based their DNS on the monitoring results of these highly connected monitoring nodes hosted at top tier data facilities ” says Job who’s referring to the previous method of monitoring page load times from the perspective of local data centers. “This doesn’t capture true end-user metrics which includes dozens of other factors that could lead to latency or network issues.” RUM seeks to mitigate the issues brought on by this shotgun-style of monitoring, and troubleshoot based on individual client data such as what kind of device they’re using, or browser.
