Content Syndication Platform Repost Can Double Site Traffic According to New Research
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- Repost, the content syndication platform that makes whole articles embeddable--and copyright protected--today released research that will help all online publishers increase their audiences and revenue. The solution is simple: repost more content. Tracking millions of pageviews across their base of over 4000 publishers, the stats reveal reposted content receives almost as much traffic as original articles--86%--and in some cases, doubling site traffic for publishers.
Using a technology similar to a video embed code, Repost is bringing online publishing into the 21st century. The company has grown from 80,000 pageviews to 2 million in just a few months -- and has 1 million monthly unique users. Founder and CEO John Pettitt not only wants content protected, he wants to help all online publishers compete by sharing content and attracting new audiences and new sources of revenue.
“These data point to the fact that if website publishers curate and repost the right content, their traffic will grow significantly,“ said Pettitt. “Traffic goes up linearly with the amount of articles posted for both reposted and original content -- that’s significant news for every content publisher. Instead of paying the ridiculous AP rates of $3000 or more a month to syndicate content, Repost can do this for free.”
Citing the fact that newspapers have been syndicating content for years, Repost aims to help site publishers become their own syndicators. To help achieve this, the company launched its upgraded dashboard available as a Wordpress plugin, which gives site publishers access to real-time, vertical-specific content to help them compete with high-traffic, multi-author sites. Repost can even alert publishers as to which topics perform best on their site so they can publish more content based on reader interest.
With the new dashboard, Repost publishers can now search subjects and create a personalized news feed for content among verticals like tech (PandoDaily, Techdirt, Fave + CO., Slashdot), travel (Travelocity), news (AFP, Christian Science Monitor, The Raw Story, Global Post, The Economist, Moyers & Company, NJ.com), sports (Fox Sports, SB Nation, FanIQ) and entertainment (Fandango). Repost has also included video feeds from YouTube so publishers can repost great video content from: CNN Video, AP Video, Reuters, Bloomberg TV, ABC News Video, CBS News Video, NBC News Video, Wall Street Journal Digital Network, Sky News and Post TV among many others.
New publishers are joining Repost daily and the company is soon to launch the release of Repost Pro and Enterprise versions that give site owners additional analytics and features.
