Continental East Development Opens Renaissance Village Rancho Belago
(PRWEB) January 30, 2015 -- The first residents were moving in as dignitaries and community groups celebrated the recent and long anticipated opening of Continental East Development’s Renaissance Village Rancho Belago in Moreno Valley. CED Co-Founder and President Al Rattan said it’s the first of three premier planned Assisted Living and Memory Care communities coming to Riverside County.
Now open, with the stated mission to create great days for its residents, the 120-bed senior living community finished under budget and on time. Even in December, typically the slowest month of the year, five more residents moved in. Rattan said this demonstrates how the word is out about Rancho Belago and that the seniors like what they hear and see.
Rattan’s comment is better understood when you actually arrive at Renaissance Village, which feels more like a five-star hotel than a senior living community. The luxurious atmosphere and wide range of amenities are what sets this community apart from other senior living facilities. Whether it is multiple dining options and the Village Diner (a 1950’s-style trip down memory lane with gold-record hits playing in the jukebox); an in-house cinema with movie-theater seating & popcorn machine; a “Geri-Fit” fitness center with professional trainers; an onsite salon & barber; an art gallery showcasing residents’ work; a cyber café with computer courses; a putting green; a play area with jungle gyms for visiting children; an outdoor garden with walking paths & shaded seating; or even a dog park for resident pets…this facility does offer something for everyone.
Since groundbreaking, the greater Riverside County community has voiced a great deal of support for Renaissance Village Rancho Belago. “Our phones have really been ringing since we put the sign up,” said CED Project Manager Charlene Kussner. “We’ve had a lot of communication from people looking for employment and from sons and daughters looking to place their parents in Moreno Valley closer to them in this community. It’s been a tremendous outpouring.”
Riverside County Board of Supervisors Chair Jeff Stone applauded the development, but, he said it’s not enough. “It’s only going to take care of 120 people, and we have more need throughout this county,” Stone said. “We’re going to need more facilities like this. This is really setting the bar high.”
A high standard is what the Renaissance Village communities are all about. “What we’re doing at Renaissance Village is reaching out to the community and celebrating our residents lives today,” Rattan said.
In the fall, RV Rancho Belago celebrated the life of 92-year-old Virginia Dunagan. Rattan said they did a great videography of her and presented it to her family at Christmas.
“Social interaction is a key element lacking in most of the senior housing industry,” he said. “In order to get the Renaissance Village lifestyle moving forward in the community, you have to reach out to make the community part of Rancho Belago.”
During construction, CED reached out to the Riverside Memorial Guard to raise the first flag in RV Rancho Belago. “We did it,” Rattan said, “partly because of the rich military history of the Moreno Valley-Riverside area, and because the average member’s age is over 70. They showed up with more than 150 people in support of the community.”
Renaissance Village has also become charter members of such senior groups as the Red Hats Society and “Old Farts” Hot Rod Car Club. Each month, RV invites the “Old Farts” Hot Rod Car Club for breakfast. In return, if residents want a ride on the town, the Old Farts volunteer to drive them in their beautifully restored vehicles. “Senior citizens come in and help the senior citizens who need some assisted help,” Rattan said.
Rita Whalen, a new resident, loves the facility. “It’s wonderful. There is always something for people to do,” she said. “I’m home.”
Rita also commented on the level of care she’s received from the Renaissance Village staff. “They’re wonderful people, and they’re here to take care of you. If you need any help, they’re there for you. I have a lot of fun with them, and I know I can trust them.”
CED’s next Renaissance Village community is being built in Murrieta, with precise grading now complete and vertical construction commencing in the next few weeks or early-spring. Rattan said this will be a stellar project that will offer assisted and memory care, with future plans to offer sub-acute care. Plans also include a Renaissance Village community in Indio.
