Sunrise, Florida (PRWEB) March 27, 2016 -- On Tuesday, March 22nd, Control Solutions Inc. (CSI) held an education and research summit on termites and mosquitoes at the Sunrise, Florida Doubletree Hotel to a crowd of more than 80 PMPs. Dr. Roger Gold spoke on termites, their biology and control as well as highlighted research conducted at Texas A&M University on CSI’s Taurus® SC, Fuse® Termiticide/Insecticide and Dominion® 2L termiticides. He focused on efficacy, mortality and formulation attributes. Dr. Gold shared that regardless of proprietary or post-patent formulations, CSI’s products performed as well as or even outperformed branded products with the same active ingredients. Dr. Gold also presented third year data from CSI’s sponsored five-year infested structure field study using Fuse Termiticide/Insecticide noting that none of the Fuse-treated structures have had a recurrence of termites. Fuse is CSI’s latest termiticide/insecticide offering for both termites and pest ants and occasional invaders. Fuse features Combination Chemistry®, CSI’s formulation technology and product development method focusing on combining two or more active ingredients to create products with multiple modes of action.
Dr. Claudia Riegel, Director, City of New Orleans Mosquito, Termite and Rodent Control Board spoke on mosquito control tactics and diseases including Zika virus. Her talk highlighted how PMPs could get involved in mosquito control and how homeowners can be part of the solution, especially in reducing the number of larval habitats and standing water on their properties. Dr. Riegel discussed recent lab and field research she and her team conducted with CSI’s Bifen® I/T plus Tekko® Pro as well as lambda-cyhalothrin-based Cyzmic® CS for backyard barrier treatment sprays for mosquitoes. Her research indicated up to five weeks of residual control with the combination treatment of Bifen I/T plus Tekko Pro and up to eight weeks of residual control with Cyzmic CS alone in this treatment pattern. Tekko Pro, also powered by Combination Chemistry, is CSI’s “Super IGR” featuring both a juvenile hormone analogue pyriproxyfen plus CSI’s proprietary chitin synthesis inhibitor: novaluron.
The attendees left the meeting full of new knowledge and “tools” they can implement in their businesses. As attendee Eric Hoffer, President of Hoffer’s Pest Solutions remarked, “The explanation of the research and the scientific information I received from this meeting will be invaluable. I plan on putting it to good use in the field and sharing it with my technicians right away!”
This was the first in a series of Education and Research Summits hosted by CSI throughout the United States. The series focuses on the research being conducted by universities and independent researchers using current products and products in development by Control Solutions. The goal is to show as many PMPs as possible the science behind the effects of CSI’s proprietary and post-patent products. The series continues in Los Angeles, California on May 17th and in New Orleans, Louisiana at a later date. Other dates and locations are still being coordinated.
