Conversion: Established Private DME Business Owner Joins National Franchise 101 Mobility

Bob has worked in the DME industry since 1970. His career began at Highlawn Pharmacy where he ultimately became a partner in the business. After 28 years with Highlawn, Bob set out to start Access & Mobility Products, which focused on home access and vehicle modifications. To increase the level of service and expertise, Bob employed sons Jason and Justin Murdock, who hold manufacturer certifications, a C.E.A.C designation, and a Joint Commission Gold Seal.
Over the years, the Murdocks found success servicing families, businesses, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA). Recent changes in VA policy nearly wiped out sales to VA hospitals. The Murdocks initially entertained franchising with 101 Mobility to secure more jobs from the VA. “Once we began talking with 101, we were impressed by their vendor relationships and marketing department,” Justin said. “It became clear that with 101 corporate handling a large part of the marketing, including web traffic, we would be free to focus on other aspects of our growing business.”
The Murdocks have completed all initial setup and training provided by 101 Mobility’s corporate office and will continue to offer accessible minivans and other vehicle modifications under Access & Mobility in addition to 101 Mobility retail items.
