Convoy of Hope Partners with Chick-fil-A, SERVE 6.8 and K-LOVE Radio to Aid Colorado Flood Relief
Springfield, Missouri (PRWEB) October 23, 2013 -- Convoy of Hope is partnering with Chick-fil-A restaurants in Colorado and Wyoming to raise funds for victims of flooding in September that left thousands of families homeless.
With additional help from partners such as Fort Collins-based SERVE 6.8 and K-LOVE Radio, Chick-fil-A restaurants are serving as collection points for high-demand relief supplies and each will host a Spirit Night fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. A percentage of all sales will be donated to Convoy of Hope’s disaster relief efforts. Up to $25,000 of donations will be matched by The Chick-fil-A Foundation.
"It's partnership with organizations like Serve 6.8 that empower Convoy of Hope to get more food, supplies and help to those who need it most," says Hal Donaldson, president and co-founder of Convoy of Hope. "When we couple such relationships with generous corporations such as Chick-fil-A, the impact on devastated communities is increased many times over."
Convoy of Hope’s disaster relief efforts, as well as the organization’s continuous work to help the less fortunate around the world, are only possible because of partnerships with businesses and organizations like Chick-fil-A, SERVE 6.8 and K-LOVE Radio.
“Thanks in large part to Convoy of Hope’s much needed relief workers and recovery supplies, SERVE 6.8 and other Northern Colorado organizations will be able to sustain a long term recovery effort for months to come,” says Mike Walker, executive director, SERVE 6.8. “We would also like to thank Chick-fil-A for their tireless effort to feed and honor the volunteer workforce in Northern Colorado as they have responded to the needs of our community. Their desire to partner statewide with Convoy of Hope speaks volumes to their commitment to make an impact in the lives of those affected by the flood.”
"K-LOVE is proud to Partner with Convoy of Hope and Chick-fil-A in making a difference in the lives and community of the people impacted by the flooding in Colorado,” says Butch Lewis, Lead Promotions Manager for K-LOVE.
Convoy of Hope’s Disaster Response team has been on the ground in Colorado since the floods hit and has distributed more than 22 mobile loads of relief products and cleaning supplies, coordinated more than 800 volunteers completing 95 work orders and partnered with 52 churches.
