Doi Suthep Temple is located 15km (9miles) west of the city was built over 700 years ago at 1156m (3,520ft) above sea level on Suthep Mountain. The temple and grounds overlook the city and is considered one of Thailand’s most important landmarks. It dates to the year 1383 and has holy Buddha relics in its golden pagoda.
