Corepoint Health Receives ONC-ACB Certification for Use of Direct Project Protocol to Externally Transfer Patient Care Data
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) December 17, 2013 -- Corepoint Integration Engine has been tested and certified for proper use of Direct Project protocol for transfer of patient care data under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. Corepoint Integration Engine is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
“Corepoint Integration Engine's use of Direct Project communication protocol can help customers utilize key communication standards criteria as defined in Meaningful Use," said Jon Mertz, Corepoint Health VP of Marketing. "Direct is an accessible, easy-to-implement standard for providers that holds tremendous potential in advancing external health data exchange."
Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs, and software that interact with EHRs, meet the Meaningful Use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. Providers using certified systems are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of electronic health records.
Corepoint Integration Engine was the first interface engine to receive Stage 1 Modular Ambulatory EHR and Modular Inpatient EHR certification and this adds to the company’s stage 2 certifications.
