The new campaign fundraises for the National Breast Cancer Foundation in support of National Breast Feeding Awareness Month and encouraging better health for local mothers and babies. August has been designated National Breast Feeding Awareness Month by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to empower women to give their babies the best possible start in life by breastfeeding. Research shows that babies who are exclusively breastfed for six months are less likely to develop many illnesses, and may even be less likely to develop childhood obesity. Of course, one critical obstacle to breastfeeding is breast cancer, and healthy mothers are instrumental in raising healthy babies. Breast cancer is one of the leading health crises experienced by women in the U.S., and the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) has dedicated itself to educating women on the importance of early detection and supporting them through their journey toward health.
