Covered California® Certifies Health Insurance Agent Ron Collins to Help Applicants

The Federal law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (aka "ACA" or "Obamacare"), requires all citizens and legal residents to purchase health insurance if they're not already covered by an employer or have an individual health insurance plan in place by the end of March, 2014. Covered California is California's version of the state health insurance exchanges, which were created by the ACA. Open enrollment began October 1, 2013, and runs through March 31, 2014, and Collins Insurance is helping people sign up for the right policy.
Applying for a Covered California policy is not a trivial task. The process takes 40 to 45 minutes answering questions online. Most of the questions are related to personal finances, a process required to determine whether or not an individual or family qualifies for a subsidy. The good news is that the application process no longer depends upon past or "pre-existing" medical conditions. All applicants are entitled to an insurance policy regardless of current or past health.
