Cow Appeciation Day Photo Contest: Take a Beltie Off The Farm
Fearrington Village, NC (PRWEB) July 11, 2014 -- They say the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, and the Belted Galloway cows at Fearrington Village want to see if that’s true. They’re sending some of their fellow “Belties” off the farm in search of new pastures and extraordinary experiences. But they need adventurous cow lovers to help them. And that’s where you come in.
To celebrate National Cow Appreciation Day, Fearrington is holding an Instagram & Twitter contest for the best “Beltie Off The Farm” experiences. The winner will receive a two-night stay for two at The Fearrington House Inn, a luxurious Relais & Chateaux retreat and one of the top travel and culinary destinations in the U.S. They’ll enjoy a four-course dinner with wine pairings at the award winning Fearrington House Restaurant, and have the honor of naming the next real baby Beltie.
If you have an Instagram and Twitter account and want to enter, email news(at)fearrington(dot)com with the subject line “BELTIEGRAM.” Include your Instagram handle, name and address. Fearrington will mail you a stuffed Beltie, while supplies last, with full instructions. Then, just start snapping photos of Beltie on extraordinary adventures and post them to Instagram and Twitter using the handle #BELTIEGRAM. Post as often as you’d like, and share with friends!
On October 1, 2014, Fearrington will post on Facebook the five semifinalists with the most original, and creative photos and captions, where the public will vote for the winner. (http://www.facebook.com/Fearrington).
The Fearrington Belties started getting restless last summer, and “Beltie" (a stuffed cow, not one of the real herd) jumped the fence to find greener pastures. So far, he’s added some impressive notches onto his notable white belt, including Las Vegas, São Paulo, New York City and London. The Belties are an integral part of Fearrington’s history. “It was a cow that built this village,” says R.B. Fitch, Fearrington Village proprietor. For years, a tiny, long-running New Yorker ad featuring a sketch of a Beltie has piqued curiosity and prompted countless individuals to relocate to this residential community near Chapel Hill.
