CPCU-Loman Education Foundation Awards More Than $132,000 in Financial Aid to College Students
(PRWEB) June 10, 2015 -- MALVERN, Pa. — The CPCU-Loman Education Foundation has awarded $132,272 in financial aid to 70 college students from 33 schools who are actively seeking careers in the risk management and insurance industry. The funding is administered through the CPCU-Loman Education Foundation Internship Financial Aid Program.
Each year, the CPCU-Loman Education Foundation, through the CPCU Society, offers financial aid to students to help them offset the costs of travel, housing and other expenses that may prevent them from pursuing an internship in the insurance industry.
“Without the CPCU-Loman Education Foundation Internship Financial Aid Program, I would not have been able to participate in my internship,” said financial aid recipient Clayton Highum from Wabash College. “My internship will provide me with a better understanding of the industry and how insurance works in the world today, so I can continue growing my education.”
To be considered for financial aid, each applicant had to be a college sophomore, junior or senior who applied for or accepted a paid insurance-related summer internship that requires him or her to work an average of 30 to 40 hours per week for a minimum of eight weeks total.
“The cornerstone of this program is to invite eligible students aspiring to pursue a career in insurance to participate in valuable internship experiences regardless of their financial means,” said Jason Terrell, Vice President. “Providing financial assistance helps dedicated students get closer to achieving their career goals.”
