Crawford-Tracey Selected for Work on Brightline Train Stations
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla (PRWEB) February 29, 2016 -- Crawford-Tracey Corporation, a leading Florida-based glazing contractor specializing in unitized and pre-glazed curtain wall and window wall products, was recently awarded the glazing work for two of the new Brightline Train Station developments. Brightline is a new express intercity train service that will connect Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Orlando. Crawford-Tracey will be working on two new stations in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
Both the Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach stations will encompass approximately 60,000 square feet. Both multi-story lobbies will span an elevated passenger lounge area for travelers and parking facilities. The multi-story lobbies will showcase 12,000 sq. ft. of Crawford-Tracey’s Pro-Tech 7SG. Pro-Tech 7SG is a contemporary curtain wall system that meets the most stringent hurricane standards in the country while offering a water rating of 100 psf. Pro-Tech 7SG has the industry’s highest rating for a standard commercial window system, and Crawford-Tracey is pairing it with low e glass from Viracon. With low e glass in place, travelers lounging in the lobbies will be able to enjoy the beauty of Florida’s sunny weather without feeling the heat.
The Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach stations will have a similar, cohesive look since they were planned and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP in association with Zyscovich Architects. Moss & Associates is the General Contractor for both projects, whom Crawford-Tracey has worked with on previous projects. Crawford-Tracey will begin their work in late spring. The Brightline train service is scheduled to begin mid-2017.
“It’s exciting to be a part of the team working on this monumental project,” says Ray Crawford, President of Crawford-Tracey. “Not only will these two stations be a gateway into their respective cities, but a destination to experience with shops, restaurants and panoramic views of their cities.”
