Crescent’s Denver City Center Office Complex Donates Signs, Supplies to Gilpin Montessori; Employees, Customers Support FACES of Change® Program to Serve At-risk Students
Denver, CO (PRWEB) October 28, 2013 -- Crescent Real Estate Holdings LLC announced today it will donate a monument sign and other building signage to its partner school, Gilpin Montessori Public School. Gilpin administrators requested Crescent assist the school in developing consistent signage on school buildings to replace differing styles of signs throughout the campus. As part of the donation, Crescent engaged its vendor, Artcraft Signs, to create a free standing building monument sign that will be erected outside of the school entrance, and to design new building signs. Gilpin will erect the monument sign, remove old building signs, and replace them with the newly designed building signs.
Gilpin Montessori Public School has been a part of Crescent’s corporate FACES of Change® program since 2012. Crescent employees have conducted a Thanksgiving food drive, a winter coat drive and back-to-school drive for Gilpin students. The back-to-school drive collected individual student supplies as well as classroom supplies. Additionally, customers in Crescent’s buildings have provided office equipment and furniture, including an ice maker for the cafeteria and chairs, sofas and coffee tables for classrooms and the teachers’ lounge. Crescent employees also have participated in Field Day events with students, teachers and administrators.
Crescent employees and customers in the Johns Manville and 707 17th Street buildings at Denver City Center collected a portion of the funds for the signage project from electronic recycling drives and a summer bazaar sale. Crescent anticipates the signs to be installed by the end of the year.
Gilpin Montessori Public School is named after William Gilpin, who was the first governor of the Colorado Territory. While the current school building has been around since 1951, a school has existed on the current site since 1881. The Montessori school concept was introduced at Gilpin in 2008 as a result of community desire for a public Montessori option for Northeast Denver. Gilpin currently instructs students from age three through grade five.
Crescent initiated FACES of Change®, a unique adopt-a-school program, in 1997 so that the commercial real estate locations could partner with local elementary schools that serve at-risk students and families. Employees, customers and business partners provide volunteer time, financial and in-kind gifts to partner schools.
