Crown Bees Unveils New Network for Bee Boosters
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 -- Crown Bees, a Washington-based company that specializes in solitary bees, announces a revolutionary way to connect bee lovers and those interested in their local food supply. A new and buzzworthy network will focus on educating and mobilizing the caretakers of mason bees and other solitary bees. A prototype of the website that will connect this new community of “Bee Boosters” can be viewed at BeeWithMe.net.
“We believe that anyone who’s interested in protecting our food supply will be excited to join our native bee booster movement,” says Dave Hunter, CEO of Crown Bees. “By educating more people about the importance of gentle bees and offering Bee Boosters a platform to make connections through this website, we’re going to revolutionize the way bees are raised across North America.”
Crown Bees will launch a crowdfunding campaign on National Agriculture Day, March 18, 2015, to fund the expansion of the network and to build an interactive online directory of bee-friendly backyards across the country.
The new Bee With Me website will allow users to share tips, stories and connect with each other. Users will be able to find other Bee Boosters in their towns who are also raising bees.
“Anyone can raise non-stinging native bees like mason bees,” says Hunter. “This network will help to empower everyday homeowners to take a stake in the food they’re putting on their table.”
As part of the crowdfunding efforts, backers during the campaign will have the option to be a part of the network and raise bees to support local ecosystems.
“We’re challenging and expanding the way people currently think about pollination,” Hunter said. “Pollinators are crucial to our environment and to our economy. Many food crops depend on a diverse and healthy population of native bees. Without bees, we’d miss out on fruits, nuts, seeds and even beer.”
The new Bee With Me network will help people learn how easy it is to raise bees, share a map of Bee Boosters in their area, list places to buy supplies and more. Visit crownbees.com to learn more about solitary bee houses.
