Crown of Thorns Tattoo Celebrates Their Official Unveiling with Charity Event "Skate of the Art Show" Hosted by Dark World Gallery of Worcester, Ma on August 10th, 2013
Worcester, MA (PRWEB) July 13, 2013 -- When thinking about getting a tattoo, think about getting something clean, classy and original. It’s got to be something that speaks originality, and sets someone apart from the rest. The piece should be timeless, something that will be LOVED for life. That’s exactly what people have to look forward to when collaborating on a design with one of the artists at Crown of Thorns Tattoo.
Some might be asking, why the name change? Out of the Dark World Tattoos opened its doors in 2006. Since then, it’s gone through many phases, including a second location in ’07. In 2008 it consolidated to a more expansive location and added an art gallery within the new space. Now solely owned and operated by Ben Mack, its been going strong. They won Worcester’s Best Tattoo Shop 4 of the last 8 years, and they have good working relationships with other local shops. They have a reputation of good, clean work, and they’re a respected shop in Worcester. Timothy James, one of the artists, has this to say about the shop: “The atmosphere is what I like the most...it’s a tight knit family where everybody’s on the same page. Being around good artists makes you strive to be better, and because of that level of excellence and integrity, we have a good reputation...we’re a respectable shop.”
Speaking to that integrity and excellence, Ben says “As artists, we’re always working hard to improve our design, technique and equipment to provide the best possible tattoos to our clients. We’ve gotten to the point where we want to take things to the next level. “Out of the Dark World” has served us well, but it’s time to take things further. The vision was always to have a sophisticated shop...a safe place for living art to manifest. This many years in business means I’ve had the chance to see what works, and what doesn’t. I’ve learned from mistakes and now it’s time to push forward into a new phase of the business. The shop has been totally renovated to reflect a classy, clean and professional environment.” The new name and the new look reflect that integrity on a physical level.
According to tattoo artist Shane Murphy, “The unique style of each artist caters to anyone’s ideas, allowing Crown of Thorns Tattoo to handle any kind of design that comes through the door- Good custom pieces that people can’t get anywhere else.” Specializing in bright bold colors, clean lines, smooth black and grey shading, realism, portraits, lettering, American traditional, Japanese traditional, fine line black and grey and new school style, anyone is sure to find the perfect artist to create their perfect tattoo.
So what does the newly named Crown of Thorns Tattoo shop mean to the public? To quote Gerald Bellmore, the shop’s fourth artist, it means when you walk through the doors you’ll feel the “breath of fresh air that makes it a lot different than any other shop. We have honorable artist who are real knowledgable. In the tattoo world, you’ll see a lot of hit & miss tattoos out there. At our shop, we’d rather have a good tattoo speak for itself and be our business card, instead of just rushing a piece trying to make a quick buck. Clients keep coming back because of the quality of work they get here.”
Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 10am -7pm, you can come down and meet the artists personally, peruse their extensive portfolios, and set up an appointment to get the incredible custom piece of art that you’ve been waiting for.
And best of all, to celebrate the shop’s 7 year anniversary and Crown of Thorns Tattoo official unveiling, Sailor Jerry Rum, Steez Magazine, Vans and Concrete Wave are sponsoring the annual SKATE OF THE ART show. That day will be full of customer appreciation, from raffles to door prizes, food and beverages, along with great music and incredible art to view (art available for purchase with proceeds to ONE Fund Boston.)
