Cruise Holiday Specialists Orbital Travel Donates Nile Cruise Holiday Prize for Lynsey Ivison Trust Golf Day
Buntingford, Hertfordshire (PRWEB UK) 16 July 2014 -- Lynsey was diagnosed as having cancer at the age of nine but this bright and courageous young girl was determined to lead as normal a life as possible and she continued with her passions - dancing, swimming and family cycle rides - as well as her studies. When Lynsey died aged eleven on 27th April 1990 she had already been an inspiration to other children and to their families, as well as her own family and friends.
Established in 1990 after Lynsey died, the Trust was set up by her family and friends to help other families with children suffering from a life-shortening illness spend precious time with their children on holiday. These much needed breaks provide respite from the pain and routine of treatment as well as the chance to spend happy time together as a family as normally as possible.
The Trust organises a whole range of fund-raising activities including the hugely successful Golf Day, barn dances and cycle rides. The holidays fund a variety of breaks including Center Parcs and days out at a beach hut at Frinton-on-Sea on the Essex Coast. Health care professionals from many different hospitals are also involved and provide peace of mind for families whilst they are away.
