Crust 54 Wins TripAdvisor Award for Top Restaurants in Holland, Michigan
Holland, MI (PRWEB) July 22, 2015 -- The TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is awarded to properties that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. “We are listed at number five, which is fantastic,” said Debbie Klaus, spokesperson for Crust 54. “We are proud to be one of the restaurants to carry a TripAdvisor Excellence Award.”
In addition, Grand Rapids’ local television station, WOTV 4, named them in the Top 5 Pizza Places in Western Michigan. The tv station asked for suggestions on Facebook, then they took those suggestions and put together a poll, and WOTV 4 Women readers voted.
The remodeled restaurant, which was purchased December 1, 2013 by the Klaus family, and officially opened February 7, 2014, is a family-run business, operated by Debbie Klaus and her husband, Brian. Their sons, Matt and Tim Klaus work as managers, as well.
Crust 54’s new owners bring a revitalized menu, focusing on fresh ingredients. Crust 54 makes all of their own dough and sauces and uses Grande cheese exclusively. In addition, their menu features made-to-order salads and the signature deep-dish pies that brought a touch of Chicago to the lakeshore. “We are a pizzeria. Our focus is pizza. Our focus is fresh. We took the old menu from the previous owners and tweaked it by focusing on pizza recipes where we could highlight our homemade and fresh ingredients and by doing so, have created a delicious menu,” said Debbie Klaus.
In addition to the recent honor, the interior decor has a family-friendly, modern makeover that includes televisions for patrons to watch while they wait. The remodeled space includes high-top tables, booths and tables with chairs. Although Crust 54 does not currently have a liquor license, patrons are invited to order a pizza and have it delivered to OBC, Our Brewing Company, a local brewery just a few doors down.
As to how customers rate Crust 54, one customer identified as David H. on TripAdvisor.com, who visited in July, gave it two thumbs up, saying, nobody does it better. “The Chicago special is by far the best pizza I've eaten,” he wrote, before adding, “The white pizza right behind, with close second, the place to go for the perfect family pizza night.”
A second TripAdvisor reviewer also gave Crust 54 rave reviews, saying, “It was easy to taste the fresh dough, sauce and toppings. Usually gluten-free crust is gross, however this is some of the best crust I've ever tasted...not just gluten-free crust but any crust that I have tasted. We had one deep dish and one thin pizza and both were delicious. It is also located in an area that is nice to walk around and get dessert afterward - a quaint little downtown.”
