CSafe Global Celebrates Six-Year Anniversary of RKN FAA Approval and Launch of Fleet
(PRWEB) November 21, 2013 -- CSafe Global recently celebrated the six year anniversary of the FAA approval of the CSafe RKN which was received in early 2008 prior to the launch of their fleet. The CSafe RKN is the first, and continues to be the only, FAA and EASA approved active air cargo container. Obtaining the FAA Certification was an onerous, expensive and lengthy task because of the many legal and global regulatory requirements, multiple system regulations, and safety guidelines that must be reviewed and verified to demonstrate compliance.
CSafe puts the safety of the life-changing products they transport and the safety of the aircraft, crew and passengers at the heart of their business. That is why they sought and obtained FAA Certification for their RKN ULDs which utilize heating and compressor-driven cooling technology to eliminate the cost and the environmental challenges associated with dry ice transportation. The CSafe RKN is the only ULD designed with a smoke detection system to shut down external fans to ensure no impact to the smoke detection and fire suppression safety systems of the aircraft.
Brian Kohr, CSafe President and CEO, explains: “We are exceptionally proud of the design and thermal management performance of our RKN, as well as our FAA approved production facility. No other active containers have the sophisticated safety systems that we have built into the RKN. This eliminates the possibility of the fans on ULDs dispersing smoke away from the aircraft smoke detectors and delaying the detection of fire nor impacting the halon based fire suppression system.
“Safe is in our name, because it is what we do – we design, build and supply active ULDs to surpass all the current regulatory requirements worldwide because we want to ensure the safety of precious life-changing cargo and give customers and airlines Peace of Mind® that the CSafe ULDs in the aircraft’s hold are the safest containers available globally.”
CSafe has seen a rapid growth in the MLA agreements with airlines and forwarders and continues to support their growth with the EQUiP RKN and safety training, knowledge sharing, expertise and advice available from highly skilled staff in centers around the world.
