CSU-Global Students Demonstrate High Academic Achievement
Greenwood Village, Colo. (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- Colorado State University-Global Campus (CSUGlobal.edu) is proud to announce that its bachelor’s degree students score in the top quarter-percentile against students nationwide, according to the latest Educational Testing Service (ETS) Proficiency Profile data.
The ETS results show CSU-Global students achieved significantly higher scores upon graduation than the scores they earned when entering their CSU-Global bachelor’s degree program. Importantly, CSU-Global students also demonstrated higher learning achievement than the national average in all assessed areas. The ETS Proficiency Profile is a nationally recognized exam utilized to track and evaluate its undergraduate students’ academic progress from their first year as students to the completion of their degree programs. The national average is based on over 150,000 students around the U.S. enrolled at more than 100 participating four-year schools.
The ETS data includes CSU-Global students with entering and graduating ETS Proficiency Profile data from incoming cohorts of Fall 2011-Fall 2013 and completer cohorts of FY12/13-FY14/15. Percentiles are for institutional means provided by ETS for all four year institutions using the unproctored administration. Percentile of the institutional mean scores are provided below and are available on the CSU-Global website:
- Overall, the institutional mean for entering students was 40 percent and the institutional mean for graduating students was 86 percent for an increase of 46 percent.
- In critical thinking, the institutional mean for entering students was 52 percent and the institutional mean for graduating students was 91 percent for an increase of 39 percent.
- In reading, the institutional mean for entering students was 36 percent and the institutional mean for graduating students was 89 percent for an increase of 53 percent.
- In writing, the institutional mean for entering students was 17 percent and the institutional mean for graduating students was 78 percent for an increase of 61 percent.

“Our courses are designed to ensure that students are able to learn the required curriculum in their program, as well as develop critical thinking, writing, reading, and quantitative skills,” said Dr. Jon Bellum, Senior Vice President and Provost for Colorado State University-Global Campus. “The results of the ETS Proficiency Profile and other assessments that are in place to monitor student achievement are a testament to the quality of our programs and the hard work of our faculty and staff.”
The ETS Proficiency Profile exam is used to evaluate students’ skills in critical thinking, reading, writing, and math as well as context in humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
