Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) April 17, 2015 -- Curacao to host its 20th Community Fair: “Kids Event” at Olympic and Union
The event of the year for most kids around the Pico Union area were the high light for most are Carnival Rides, Pony rides, Arts and Craft, Reading Garden and Non-Profit organizations giving out their information.
Los Angeles, California –April 17th, 2015—Curacao, will host the largest community event for the area of Pico-Union, Saturday, April 18th from 12-5PM. “The event takes place on Union and James Wood, we close both of these streets to accommodate booths and at no cost rides for the Kids, specially the pony and carnival rides that brings such a big attraction from kids, this year we are bringing snow making machines and ice skating rink”, said Marguerite Mohney, Event Manager for Curacao.
“Activities like this one are a priority for us, we want to thank the community for their preference and give back to the children a fun event for all the family”, said Ron Azarkman, owner for Curacao. The event includes a reading garden where kids listen to different talent from the TV station Univision who read and comment to them the stories.
Among the organizations participating this year we have SoCal chapter for CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) who have design several make a take projects for kids at no cost. The American Heart Association will bring CPR classes, information on salt and healthy eating for the family. The Children Hospital of Los Angeles will have a coloring event where messages for the children in the hospital will be produced.
The Special Needs Network will provide stations for kids to understand of Autism Spectrum Disorders, They will provide items for an Autism Lab, set up a dinner table with: plates, cups napkins, utensils, beads, nuts, bolts etc. with smear goggles with petroleum jelly. Woodcraft Rangers will provide dancing demo classes and an expression art class.
Operation Hope will have a “Lifestyle Choices” where kids will pick their choice of occupation that shows the gross monthly income, then they select different transportation methods, entertainment options, housing, dining, they will be calculating the monthly cost, most of the time they pick the luxury, sport cars, etc. to see that their occupation chosen can’t pay for the lifestyle.
Additional organizations will be there as LA Galaxy, the Laker Girls, and non profits on areas as health, sports and education.
