Cyber-Security University Announces Accreditation
Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) March 12, 2015 -- In an effort to improve institutional integrity, curriculum design, and promote student success, ECCU has recently undergone a rigorous evaluation process from a national accrediting association. ECCU is pleased to announce that as of January 30th, 2015, ECCU has officially earned the DEAC seal of approval.
DEAC is a private, non-profit organization that operates as a national accreditor of distance education institutions. Accreditation by DEAC covers all distance education activities within an institution and it provides a single source of nationally recognized accreditation. DEAC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency as well as a acknowledged member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
The goal of accreditation is to ensure that the academic process provided by institutions of higher education meets acceptable levels of quality. There are several reasons accreditation is important other than assurance of quality and adherence to specific academic standards. Accreditation determines a school's eligibility for participation in federal (Title IV) and state financial aid programs. Proper accreditation may also important for the acceptance and transfers of college credit, and is a prerequisite for many graduate programs.
The Master of Security Science (MSS) program is a 36 credit hour, 100% online program and can be completed in as quickly as two years. This program offers in-depth instruction in the following disciplines: ethical hacking, network security, digital forensics, disaster recovery, penetration testing, and leadership.
The inquiry form can be found online or potential students can contact the University via email for more detailed information.
ECCU’s guiding principle is to offer and promote courses responsive to ever-changing global technologies in order to prepare students for the work place. Each course has specific learning objectives and outcomes that can be mapped directly to skills needed in today’s workforce. ECCU strongly believes in and abides by these core values: quality in education, excellence in teaching, direct connections in the cyber-security population, leaders in information assurance, and the students we serve.
According to ECCU President, Jay Bavisi, “At EC-Council University, we have high aspirations for our students. They are tomorrow’s technology leaders and cyber-security professionals. We prepare our graduates to become InfoSec leaders and we consider this to be the school where chief information security officers and e-business architects of world-class stature are educated.”
