Cymath.com Launched – Sets Out to Improve Your Math Grades

Jeff Lee today announced the launch of cymath.com – the first free math solver with integrated tutorials. "We understand that tutors are expensive and parents are busy. We believe every student deserves math help that is comprehensive and freely accessible," said Lee, the spokesperson of Cymath. "We don’t want to just do your homework; we want you to understand it. Cymath can improve your grades."
The service targets high school and college students. It works as follows: The user enters the problem, and the website instantly displays the full solution with all work shown, along with tutorials and examples built into almost every step. According to Lee, Cymath is designed to explain solutions like a human math tutor. "Our goal is to empower students with the tool they need to really understand math. Our focus is not on the ‘what’, but more on the ‘why’," he said. "Once a student reaches this level of understanding, that ‘A’ in math will just come naturally."
Cymath covers various topics in high school math such as logarithms, exponents, complex numbers, quadratic equations, systems of equations, trigonometry, factoring, partial fraction and polynomial division. For college students, Cymath covers topics in calculus such as methods of differentiation, including the product rule. the quotient rule, the chain rule, etc., as well as methods of integration, including u-substitution, integration by parts, integration by partial fraction, trigonometric substitution, and rationalizing substitution.
At the core of Cymath is a proprietary algorithm, which generates the answer, the steps, as well as the relevant tutorials and examples based on the context. "We call this ‘contextual guidance’," said Lee. "This is crucial in helping students fully understand the solution. I don’t think this concept exists in any other math software right now."
Cymath plans to enter the mobile space next, with releases of Cymath for Android and Cymath for iPhone set in the coming months.
