Cynthia Holiday: Lady "Swings the Blues"
(PRWEB) February 26, 2015 -- She's not Billie Holiday, not Judy Holiday, not Jennifer Holiday. She’s Cynthia Holiday!
Cynthia Holiday is a real crowd pleaser. Her Lady “Swings” the Blues show is full of swing, improvisation and pure soul. Clearly, singing before an audience is where she feels most comfortable.
When asked to pick out a few favorite selections from the show, Cynthia says “Never Make A Move Too Soon” and “Drinking Again” are fun to perform. She also enjoy singing her original song “I Like What I See,” a familiar scenario about girls night out, looking for Mr. Right…You’ll love her story.
“Cynthia is well studied, as she seeks to continue the tradition of jazz women who sing the blues, a style that, in my observation, has become a lost art among vocalists. I hear the humor of Helen Humes, the soul of Ernestine Anderson, the warm timbre of Mary Stallings and story telling of Marlena Shaw. But, make no mistake, what we hear is pure Cynthia Holiday,” said Sheila Anderson, WBGO 88.FM Radio.
Cynthia Holiday will be performing at New York City jazz clubs. Please review the schedule below.
