Cytegic Issued Patents for Its Proactive Approach to Cybersecurity and Risk Management
Tel Aviv, Israel and New York (PRWEB) September 28, 2016 -- Cytegic, Inc., announced today the allowance of U.S. Patent No. 9,426,169 B2 and Patent Application No. 14/574,990 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. A Notice of Allowance is the formal USPTO notification that an applicant is legally entitled to a patent. The allowance of this particularly comprehensive patent, along with two more pending patents demonstrate the depth and scope of innovation that underlies Cytegic’s approach to Cybersecurity and Risk Management.
Titled “System and Method for Cyber Attacks Analysis and Decision Support,” Patent No. 9,426,169 B2 covers the overall architecture and set of processes that powers Cytegic’s Cybersecurity Management Solution. Cytegic’s solution has been deployed by organizations such as the Government of Douglas County, Colorado to streamline daily security operations, boost organizational preparedness for cyber attacks and implement a more proactive, strategic approach to cyber defense.
“We provide Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) with a method for monitoring and managing cybersecurity risks that is designed for today’s reality, said Shay Zandani, Cytegic’s CEO and Co-founder and the patent’s authors with Dr. Elon Kaplan, the president of the company. “Practically speaking, the depth and scope of this first patent covers that method, while our three other pending patents cover specific sub-components of our solution.”
Titled “Security Risk Mapping of Potential Targets” Patent Application No. 14/574,990 covers a taxonomy designed to aide in the identification and defense of cyber attacks. AVOIDIT (Attack Vector, Operational Impact, Defense, Information Impact and Target) utilizes five major classifiers to characterize the nature of an attack. Classification by defense is designed to provide information to the network administrator regarding attack mitigation and remediation. Unlike most taxonomies, AVOIDIT efficiently classifies blended attacks helping Cytegic propose efficient cause, action, defense, analysis and target process used to facilitate attack classification.
These patents cover the underlying processes that enables Cytegic’s solution to continuously monitor an organization’s set of security controls, correlate the state of those controls against external threat intelligence, assess the organization’s security posture and, with great precision and a high degree of automation, adjust it as needed. It also covers the manner in which Cytegic calculates and presents cyber risk metrics.
The Cytegic Cybersecurity Management Solution enables CISOs to monitor, measure and manage organizational cybersecurity resources effectively. Cytegic centralizes and consolidates all aspects of cybersecurity risk management: operations, decision-making, monitoring, and reporting. It consists of three integrated modules:
Cyber Maturity Assessment (CyMA), which automates the collection, processing and analysis of security control data and assesses the organization’s cybersecurity maturity level.
Dynamic Trend Analysis (DyTA) is an intelligence analytics platform that identifies cyber-threats related to geopolitical regions and business sectors, based on data from open sources and technical feeds.
Cyber Decision Support System (CDSS), a centralized console that both DyTA and CyMA feed into. It displays an organization’s real-time security status, measures threat readiness, and simulates “what if” scenarios to determine optimal resource allocation.
“Our sales pipeline is overflowing, and the cyber risk management market is about to explode,” Zandani continued. “This patent validates our approach and our customers validate that it works.
