Czech Consulate and CzechInvest Congratulate Czech & American Aerospace Firms on Preliminary Collaboration for Military Aircraft
New York (PRWEB) June 30, 2015 -- Following extensive talks, including meetings at the aerospace conference hosted by CzechInvest and The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York in last May, LOM Praha & Bell Helicopter have announced a Memorandum of Understanding. The memorandum specifically allows for collaboration on assembly, customization and maintenance of Bell Helicopter military aircraft.
“The Czech Republic is a central European location for Bell Helicopter and ideal for the customization and delivery of all aircraft destined for the European market,” says Jan Fried, Director of East Coast Operations, CzechInvest. “In addition to being centrally positioned at the borders of Eastern and Western European countries, we have a stable economy, and an educated, technically skilled labor force.”
In a speech delivered at the American Chamber of Commerce in Prague this month, Bell Helicopter Global CEO John Garrison described his company’s facility at the Prague Airport as the customization, delivery and service center for Europe. “The Czech Republic is an important customer for us. We recognize the rich heritage of aerospace in this country, and we continue to invest in not just our facilities and capabilities but also Czech industry and educational partnerships.”
Bell Helicopter has been operating in the Czech Republic since 2010. In 2013, it made Prague its major European headquarters. Its newest strategic initiative was entered into with LOM Praha, which was founded in 1915 by the Czech Ministry of Defense and is a leading European provider of military aircraft life-cycle support in NATO and Europe during the past hundred years.
Adds Stanislav Beneš, Deputy Consul General and Head of the Economic Section, Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York, “The continued success and cooperation between Bell Helicopter and Czech companies, such as LOM Praha is a positive reflection of how well our countries’ aerospace industries are able to work together.”
