D-Mak Productions Announces the Opening of Alpha Class
Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) September 13, 2016 -- Alpha Class is the end result of Danny McManus following his brothers around with a video camera and capturing moments rarely seen inside fraternity life. McManus and Forte spent several years culling the raw footage to put together an eye-opening look at a life few get a chance to view from the inside.
After the university bans their fraternity, McManus and his brothers attempt a resurrection through rechartering to prove that fraternities can be places of public service and true camaraderie. Tensions rise however, when the fraternity splits between those who truly want to see change, and those for whom Animal House is an ideal. As McManus, stated in College Times, "The overall arch of the story is showing how an organization can fall apart."
Several scenes in this documentary illustrate the conflicting needs and desires of those in Greek life. Despite the brotherhood's claim that the university's no hazing policy is in force in their house, McManus captures on film the fine line between a joking, brotherly welcome and exactly the type of behavior the university is trying to ban. This type of conflict resonates throughout the film.
Filmgoers who want to experience this true insider view of what happens when a chance for redemption meets the darker side of Greek life can view the debut of the documentary at the Harkins Valley Art Theater at 509 S. Mill Ave. in Tempe, AZ at 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm on Tuesday, September 13th and Wednesday, September 14th. Purchase tickets on the theater's website, (http://www.harkinstheatres.com/theatreDetails.aspx?theatreId=7619) or at the box office.
