Dale Carnegie Training of Central Alabama Featured on Good Day Alabama’s Central Alabama Business Break
Birmingham, Alabama (PRWEB) April 29, 2015 -- Dale Carnegie of Central Alabama President, Nancy Covert was featured on Good Day Alabama’s Central Alabama Business Break to discuss current and upcoming challenges business owners are facing. According to Dale Carnegie research, Covert cited the three biggest obstacles facing businesses today as: leadership development, succession planning and employee engagement.
Explaining why Employee Engagement is so important, Nancy went on to say that $11 Billion is lost annually due to employee turnover and much of that turnover is a result of having employees who are disengaged. Since a staggering 71% employees are not fully engaged, the topic has become essential to organizations in Alabama and across the globe. What does it mean to be a disengaged? Employees who are disengaged are going to work and doing just enough to get by and collect a paycheck.
Covert goes on to explain that Companies with engaged employees outperform those without engaged employees by up to 202%. These engaged companies have a workforce of individuals who add ideas and want to see the organization succeed.
According to Dale Carnegie Training and MSW research, there are 3 drivers of employee engagement that companies should focus on: an employee’s relationship with his/her immediate supervisor, an employee’s pride in the organization and what they do for the community, and an employee’s belief in senior leadership.
