Dallas’ Park Cities Pet Sitter, Inc. Helps Bring Presents to Pets This Thanksgiving Season
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) November 19, 2014 -- This Thanksgiving will be a little brighter for pets in lower income areas, thanks to the efforts of Dallas-based Park Cities Pet Sitter. Park Cities Pet Sitter joined forces with the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS) and pet sitters and owners from across the country for the fourth annual “Presents 4 Pets” campaign.
“Presents 4 Pets” is a national collection drive to benefit shelter and rescue animals. Held in conjunction with the Humane Society of the United States’ National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, November 2nd-8th, 2014, this program solicited products needed to help keep shelters and rescue organizations operational, and animals comfortable and safe.
As part of the program, NAPPS member Park Cities Pet Sitter reached out to their clients and to citizens in their community to encourage them to collect and donate products for this worthy cause. Park Cities Pet Sitter hosted a 1-day “Stuff the SUV” event September 27th, 2014 at Pet Supplies Plus on Mockingbird Lane to kick off the campaign, and then continued to collect donated supplies from their pet sitting clients through November 7th, 2014. With all of these efforts, over 1,100 pounds of “dry” pet food, 290 cans of “wet” pet food, 56 pet beds, 43 leashes and 143 collars were collected. In addition, $770 in cash, checks and gift cards were also donated. The total value of everything collected by Park Cities Pet Sitter was $9,240 worth of pet supplies and donations, which they donated to this year’s chosen recipient organization, Duck Team 6.
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all those who donated to this worthy cause and helped to make the “Presents4Pets” campaign a success,” said Joette White, President of Park Cities Pet Sitter. “This was our second year to participate, and we were thrilled to be able to double the amount we collected from last year. Much of the campaign’s success was due to the amazing Park Cities Pet Sitter client base and our fabulous staff. We also saw a huge amount of support from Duck Team 6’s social media fans, who came from around the city to donate products. It is so important that we remember organizations like Duck Team 6, that work so hard year round to get stray animals off the street, and help to educate our community about how important it is to spay/neuter and vaccinate your pets. We look forward to participating again next year.”

Additionally, pet parents can benefit from NAPPS’ free resources including a disaster preparedness guide, tips on how to select a pet sitter, and a nationwide referral service,.
