Dallas Women’s Foundation Brings Author Anne-Marie Slaughter to Dallas
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) December 02, 2015 -- Anne-Marie Slaughter, author and former first female director of Policy Planning for the U.S. Department of State, will be the keynote speaker at Dallas Women’s Foundation’s Leadership Forum and Awards Dinner, presented by AT&T. The April 21, 2016 dinner, co-chaired by Margaret Jordan and Debbie Taylor, celebrates the prestigious 2016 Maura Women Helping Women Awards and the Young Leader Awards. Dallas Women’s Foundation is accepting nominations for both awards through Friday, December 18.
Anne-Marie Slaughter is the president and CEO of New America and the former Bert G. Kerstetter ’66 University Professor Emerita of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University. She is well known for having penned the most read article in The Atlantic’s history, “Why Women Still Can’t Have it All,” which generated a national debate. Earlier this year, Slaughter released her book, Unfinished Business, where she outlines a new vision for work-life balance, what true equality between men and women really means, and an action plan.

For 37 years, the Maura Women Helping Women Award has honored courageous women and men who have catalyzed change for women and girls in North Texas. Dallas Women's Foundation's Young Leader Award was established in 2013 to recognize breakthrough leadership exhibited by a woman under the age of 40 who is achieving success in a field, initiative or sector, and creating a path of opportunity for other women to follow.
