Dance Pizazz Announces the Top 9 No-Nos for Maneuvering the Social Dance Floor.
(PRWEB) July 22, 2015 -- If a driver in front of another car stops on the road for no reason or a group of tourists block the whole sidewalk it would make it challenging to get to work on time. In order to have a great time dancing socially, dancers have to respect their partners and all dancers on the dance floor with the following tips:
Tip 1: Dancers should not teach their partners. Even if they have had years of experience, offering advice to a dance partner without being asked is rude. It is their partner’s or teacher’s job to teach them. If dancers are nice and friendly, other people will feel comfortable dancing with them.
Tip 2: Dancers should not ever blame their dance partner. Dancing is teamwork and is never one person’s fault. Instead of blaming their partners dancers should focus on their own dancing.
Tip 3: Back leading is a major No-No in partner dancing. Traditionally, men lead and women follow on the dance floor. All dancers have to follow this rule for dance to go smoothly and for everyone to have fun.
Tip 4: Too many turns in a row can cause dizziness, so dancers are advised not to spin their partners nonstop. It can also be dangerous to other dancers especially when the dance floor is crowded. So, turn your partner sparingly so that it is fun to your partner and safe to the other dancers.
Tip 5: This tip is similar to over-turning. Dipping your partner a lot can cause pain to your partner. Leader, before you dip your partner, make sure he/she feels comfortable being dipped. Test it out with an easy dip and don't do more than 2 dips in a dance.
Tip 6. There is nothing wrong with dancers having a couple of drinks before they dance. However, being overly intoxicated can affect.
Tip 7. It is important for dancers to not take up too much space unless there is a huge or empty dance floor. It is respectful toward other dancers if steps small are kept small and contained. Dancers should also be careful not to hit others with any fancy arm styling.
Tip 8. When moving across the dance floor in traveling dances, such as Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango, dancers must go with the Line of Dance, which is a counterclockwise flow around the dance floor. That way, they can minimize the chance of running into other dancers. Also, if you they are doing stationary dances, such as Swing, stay in the middle of the dance floor so that traveling dancers can move around you.
Tip 9. Since dancers will be dancing closely with people, they should pay attention to personal grooming. They should be sure to keep their breath fresh with mints and take breaks to freshen up with body spray and deodorant. And remember all dancers need to wash their hands after using the restroom!
