Dania Beach CRA announces the first major mixed use development that will invest over $20 million in its downtown
Dania Beach, FL (PRWEB) August 22, 2014 -- In a recent announcement to city officials, Jeremy Earle, Dania Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Executive Director wrote, “I have some GREAT news for you all.” He went on to explain that a groundbreaking ceremony for The Place at Dania Beach, is on the horizon – scheduled for September 3, 2014 at the old Dania Beach Hotel site located at 180 East Dania Beach Boulevard at 9:00 AM.
The Place at Dania Beach is a ($20 million plus) mixed use project with 144 units comprised of lofts and townhomes, and a rooftop recreation area. Space is available for restaurants and retail business. Earle noted that the Dania Beach CRA staff worked closely with the developer, AHS Development Group out of Miami, for the last year to implement the project. He said, “This will be the first major development project in our downtown area. The CRA has worked very hard to bring projects such as this to the table and out of the ground. I know you are aware of the extraordinary amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to make these things happen.”
In the GlobeSt.com article dated September 12, 2013, David Duckworth, Vice President of Investment Sales with Avison, who oversaw the execution of the property sale, said, “The Dania Beach land parcel was highly sought after from investors attracted to its unique zoning, which allows for the potential development of up to 75 residential units per acre and up to seven stories. The high level of interest in the property is a testament to the potential that developers see in Dania Beach.”
After working with AHS for the past year and now having an official groundbreaking scheduled, Earle was pleased to share that the project is expected to be complete within the next 12 -16 months from the commencement of vertical construction. AHS crews are currently onsite removing trees and stumps and will mobilize heavy equipment within the next few weeks.
