Daniel Carnahan pursues fresh marketing push for novel
NEWBURY PARK, Calif. (PRWEB) November 25, 2014 -- Daniel Carnahan knows the mean streets of Los Angeles. Over a 25-year career in the Los Angeles Police Department, Carnahan investigated over 4,000 cases, working robbery, burglary, narcotics, gangs, undercover and homicide. His knowledge and expertise combine in “The Manipulator” (published by Trafford Publishing), the thrilling new detective novel about power and the men who will do anything to keep it.
“The situations faced are true to life, and being true to life, all acts have consequences that cannot be avoided,” explains Carnahan. The former cop uses his knowledge of criminals and heroes to create authentic and believable characters.
When mob boss Manicelli and dirty businessman John Weatherford find themselves competing for power, LA becomes a battle ground. A series of seemingly unconnected murders implicate Mac Thornsby, who is discovered unconscious at a gruesome and bloody triple murder scene. It is up to young Deputy District Attorney Jim MacDonald and seasoned homicide Detective George Westbend to solve the murders. But as the bodies continue to pile up, all three become trapped in the deadly game of cat and mouse.
“This is a story about people who grew up following the rules and respecting the rights of others suddenly finding themselves in a world without rules where there is no respect for human life,” explains Carnahan. “These men will do anything to survive and hold onto their power.”
