Daredevil Performers Highlight Wisconsin Dells Ski, Sky and Stage Show
Wisconsin Dells, WIS. (PRWEB) July 25, 2013 -- Daredevils take center stage at Wisconsin Dells’ popular Tommy Bartlett Show, now in its 61st summer run on the shores of Lake Delton. The live outdoor show features an array of thrill performers showing off their skills on the water, on stage and high in the sky.
Revving up the action at full-throttle are the Nerveless Nocks’ and their motorcycle stunt racing team. The heart-pounding action takes place inside the tight confines of the Globe of Thunder, an 18-foot-tall steel globe on the Tommy Bartlett stage. The Nocks race around in circles and even upside down, much to the amazement of audiences. Among the daring stunt riders is 15-year-old Cyrus Nock, who first debuted in the Globe on the Bartlett stage nine years ago at age six. At the time, he was considered one of the youngest motorcycle stunt riders in the world. He joins his parents, Michelangelo and Carolina, and fellow performer Luis Urueta, as they race around inside the globe at up to 60 miles per hour.
“Cyrus Nock began as a pint-sized motorcycle daredevil on the Bartlett stage nine years ago and now he’s back as a teenager showing off his stunt riding skills,” said Tom Diehl, general manager of Tommy Bartlett, Inc. “Cyrus is a ninth generation Nock thrill performer; it’s in his blood.”
On the water, the world-class Tommy Bartlett Water-ski team brings the action. Turning heads and sparking a few “how-do-they-do-that’s,” the spectacular new FlyBoard is wowing audiences this summer. The new-age water jet board is powered by a jet-ski and uses water propulsion to allow a rider to dive in and out of the water like a dolphin. FlyBoard performers strap into the jet-pack-like device which is tethered to the personal watercraft. Using body movements and increased water flow from the jet-ski, the rider can dive into the water and pop back out again; flying high into the air to perform flips and twists to the delight of audiences.
“The FlyBoard is awesome to watch and gets a great reaction from visitors,” said Diehl.
Drawing top water-ski talent from around the country, the Tommy Bartlett Water-skiers leave it all out on the lake with their multitude of fast-paced waterskiing. Audiences are wowed with a mix of trick skiing, with jumps and flips, barefooting, pyramids and more extreme water sports action including wakeboarding and high-speed boat maneuvers. The show also features the unique Sky Ski, a hydrofoil that allows the performer to ride on the wake and be lifted up out of the water to perform hi-flying flips.
All eyes turn to the sky for each evening show, featuring the ultimate daredevil, with the spectacular flight of the lighted hang-glider kite. Our daring pilot starts on the Tommy Bartlett stage and is catapulted by speedboat to a height of 700 feet above the audience. The towline is released and our gutsy performer gracefully maneuvers the lighted glider back down to the very spot from where he launched. It’s an amazing feat of skill and precision that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.
