Darla Poole Appointed Chief Operating Officer for Auberle
Auberle is pleased to announce that Darla Poole has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, effective October 1.
Darla was initially hired to start a pilot family preservation program in Pennsylvania. During her 27 year tenure at Auberle, she has played an instrumental role in the development and execution of Auberle’s Movin’ On program, SNAP® program, Homebuilders® program and Foster Care Program. While at Auberle, Darla headed an outcome project that has led her and her teams to continued success. Her proven leadership and dedication to Auberle’s mission, values and beliefs have helped spear her teams in regularly achieving high performance praises.
“I am excited to tackle the challenges of the future of the child welfare system and to make Auberle the best place for children and families to thrive,” Darla said about her new position.
Prior to her appointment, Poole has served as Auberle’s Director of Community Services and Planning. For the past eight years, Poole has been responsible for direct oversight and supervision of all aspects of Auberle’s Foster Care and In-Home programs, independent living programs, which include the 412 Youth Zone, and the SNAP® Program. As a result of her success with the implementation and performance of the SNAP® Program, Poole was invited to speak at the International Congress of Law and Psychiatry in Vienna, Austria on implementing evidence-based models with fidelity.
Poole replaces Stephanie Walsh, whose passion for bettering the lives of children and families in our communities drove Auberle to implement trauma-informed care to all of 16 program areas resulting in the agency becoming Sanctuary Certificated in 2015. Walsh will continue her involvement with Auberle as a trauma-informed model trainer.
Aside from her work with Auberle, Poole has co-founded her own non-profit, Gray Paws Sanctuary, which provides quality “forever” care to abandoned senior dogs. In addition, Poole serves as a Governing Board Director and a Steering Committee Member of the Mon Valley Providers Council for the Human Service Center in Turtle Creek.
Earlier to this announcement, we have been working with the Forbes Funds to develop a succession plan. Darla’s recent promotion to Chief Operating Officer is a prime example of the succession plan in action.
