DASH Celebrates 5 Years of Allies in Change
Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- Registration is open for the annual awards reception for DASH partners, members, and supporters, who come together to recognize community partners who have made a difference in the lives of women and children facing homelessness due to domestic and sexual violence. The reception will take place at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in D.C. Tickets and Sponsorships are available, click here.
For the first time ever, Allies in Change will feature a former DASH survivor of domestic violence as the key note speaker. The survivor, who lived in the Cornerstone emergency safe housing program for two years, will share her experience finding safety and stability through DASH safe housing.
The event will also serve as a launch for the What It Takes DC Campaign, designed by Ad 2 DC to raise awareness about the challenges that survivors of domestic violence in DC face when trying to get safe from abuse. Attendees will watch a screening of the What It Takes DC video as well as hear about the intent and making of the campaign.

DASH is an innovator in providing access to safe housing and services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families as they rebuild their lives on their own terms. We seek to strengthen and expand the local safety net for survivors by providing high quality, voluntary services that are responsive to their individual needs and by engaging lawmakers, community members, service providers, and survivors in the movement to make safe housing more accessible in the short-term and less necessary in the long-term.
