Data Center Resources Announces Standard Modular Data Center Configurations
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) October 23, 2014 -- Data Center Resources, LLC, a leading provider of innovative power, cooling and monitoring solutions for the critical data center market, announced today new integrated modular data center configurations. These small stand-alone buildings can ship integrated with the necessary technical infrastructure to support up to up to 200kW of load at an N+1 level of redundancy. The 12’ buildings are sized to ship on a standard flatbed truck and are available in 20’, 30’, 40’ and 50’ lengths.
The heavy-duty, weatherized building structures are constructed of steel beams and panels for extreme strength and durability. When properly anchored, the buildings are designed to sustain Category 5 wind speeds up to 150 MPH. High performance insulation keeps the building interior suitable for sensitive electronics regardless of the conditions outside. A 12 inch raised floor system is designed to route piping for the cooling systems and provide additional protection from water damage. A fire suppression system designed for use in critical data center environments is also included.

The included power infrastructure conditions and distributes the feed from the utility to the server level. Real-time scalable UPS system, dual feed distribution panels and monitored rack level power strips are standard components. Generator, transfer switch and transformer are all optional depending on site requirements. In-row, close-coupled cooling modules provide the ideal temperature and cooling necessary for critical systems. Optional hot aisle containment doors and panels provide exceptional cooling efficiency by separating supply and exhaust air flows. All power and cooling infrastructure feature network accessible monitoring and management. Standard configurations include power and cooling infrastructure to support cabinet loads up to 8 kW @ N+1. However, infrastructure can be customized to accommodate loads ranging from 1 to 30kW per cabinet with N, N+1 or 2N redundancy.
Modular data centers have been gradually gaining acceptance over the past several years. They feature a lower cost and quicker deployment time than new construction. There has been strong demand in several industries which lack sufficient data center spaces such as chemical and energy plants as well as manufacturing facilities. Local government and health care facilities are attracted to cost savings compared to building or renovating a data center space. “There has been strong interest from several industries but we are also hearing from small to medium-sized business which have outsourced their data center who are interested in taking back control of their IT. Also, by eliminating the high cost of co-locating servers, they can typically re-coup the cost of the modular data center in two years or less”, declares Berendes.
