A single mom and screenwriter by trade, Ratney said she was inspired by the film characters she writes about and saw an opportunity to make a difference in other people’s lives by providing insight on issues of relevance.

“I thought if people actually saw an illustration of the day-to-day journeys of life, a light bulb would go off in their heads and they might see themselves in the characters I’ve created,” Ratney said. “I hope to give people a better perspective of alternative points of view so we can better understand the world we live in.”
