David Horgan Movie Program Delivers Hollywood Program to “Reach and Teach” Inner-City Youth
NORTHAMPTON, MA (PRWEB) January 07, 2016 -- David Horgan Movie Program (http://www.davidhorganmovieprogram.com) a comprehensive filmmaking course for inner-city youth has launched an innovative program that teaches real world entertainment curriculum from top industry professionals.
Horgan, a veteran producer of Will Smith and Mark Wahlberg music videos directs the 4-6 week course in schools and youth centers in New England and New York City.
To date recognized industry professionals like Tom Hanks, Peter Scolari, Doug Maxwell, Mike Scully and many others have offered lectures, studio visits, and backstage access to Horgan’s students. The program focuses on all aspects of the movie making process including: writing, producing, directing, camera operation, lighting and editing of final films complete with original scoring.
The program modules recently inspired the Montclair Film Festival -Emerging Filmmaker Competition.
“Working with us to develop our curriculum for our inaugural Filmaking workshops... your experience and insight were invaluable” said Montclair Film Festival Education Director Sue Hollenberg.
In addition, the program will be offered in conjunction with the Life Vest Inside national “Kindness Kids Productions” where students will focus on creating films that promote compassion and tolerance.
Programs run for 4-6 weeks as an after school program, on weekend days and for full weeks during school breaks and summer.
The program is currently operating with Baystate Medical Center, the largest health system in Western, Massachusetts in its after-school enrichment program that resides in the Putnam Technical School in Springfield, MA.
