David Jao Joins evolutionQ Inc. as Chief Cryptographer
Waterloo, ON (PRWEB) September 20, 2016 -- evolutionQ Inc. announced today the addition of world renowned cryptographer David Jao to their executive team as Chief Cryptographer.
Prof. Jao is a distinguished cryptographer who completed his PhD at Harvard and worked in the Cryptography and Anti-Piracy Group at Microsoft Research before joining the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo.
He is Director of the Centre for Applied Cryptographic Research (CACR) and leads a large research group in “post-quantum” or quantum-safe cryptography at the University of Waterloo, including the design, cryptanalysis and implementation of a range of post-quantum schemes.
Prof. Jao is also credited with the invention of the supersingular elliptic curve isogenies based scheme for post-quantum public key cryptography.
“We are very pleased that Prof. Jao has decided to join our team. His expertise will certainly strengthen our base of research in post-quantum cryptography, in designing, breaking and implementing quantum-safe cryptography tools. We look forward to working with him,” said Michele Mosca, CEO of evolutionQ.
As Chief Cryptographer, he will lead the design and implementation of evolutionQ’s quantum-safe cryptography modules (based on quantum-resistant algorithms) in addition to applying his knowledge and expertise in evolutionQ’s quantum risk assessments and training programs.
