David Lloyd Leisure’s Big Give Brings Christmas Cheer to Children’s Hospices
(PRWEB UK) 20 December 2013 -- It’s a busy time for Father Christmas – so presenter Jenni Falconer stepped in today, Friday December 20, to help make some special deliveries to children’s hospices.
Generous members and team members at David Lloyd Leisure clubs across the UK have donated spare Christmas presents to children’s hospices, as part of the company’s Big Give appeal.
The gifts will help children’s hospices support seriously ill children and their families.
The Big Give initiative is part of David Lloyd Leisure’s charity of the year partnership with Together for Short Lives, the leading charity for UK children’s hospices.
Sarah Hobbs, group family manager at David Lloyd Leisure, said: “At Christmas, we can sometimes take the time we spend with our families for granted. But many seriously ill children and their families will be spending the festive period at a children’s hospice this year, when they would love to be celebrating Christmas together at home.
“Families are at the heart of our Big Give appeal and we are so grateful that our kind-hearted members and team members at David Lloyd Leisure have donated gifts to support children’s hospices this Christmas. And thank you to the lovely Jenni Falconer for taking time out of her busy schedule to help deliver the presents.”
Jenni, who has a daughter Ella, two, and is best known for her presenting roles on BBC1’s National Lottery Draws and ITV’s This Morning, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been asked to support David Lloyd Leisure’s Big Give appeal, which will help the vital work carried out by children’s hospices all over the country, all year round.”
Stephen Ballantyne, director of fundraising for Together for Short Lives, said: ”David Lloyd Leisure’s Big Give appeal is a fantastic way for people to support children’s hospices by donating spare gifts.
